Orange Syrup


  1. 1 cupsugar
  2. 1 ½ cup orange juice
  3. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  4. 2 teaspoons grated orange zest (optional)
  5. 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (optional)


Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Strain the zest out, cool and store in a glass bottle.

Add spices like cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, star anise, pepper for a spiced orange syrup.
